Mr. Reinstein has handled similar situations, most notably, working with Greg Bautzer, Howard Hughes' long time attorney, where he was interviewed several times by investigators in an attempt to locate Hughes' genuine will. His experience allows him to credibly address such questions as:
· Considering whether or not there is a genuine will, what are the circumstances that will allow Katherine Jackson to become the permanent administrator of the estate of Michael Jackson?
· When a will is presented, how can it be, and will it be authenticated?
· What potential legal battles will ensue over the administration of Michael's assets? How will his assets and liabilities be determined? How will creditors be notified? How will creditors' claims be handled by the courts? How will his future residual earnings be calculated and disbursed, and to whom?
· How would Jackson's children be awarded their inheritance? How might Michael's official residency (if he's not a California resident) affect the outcome when other states have different probate law?
· In what court will the child custody battle ultimately take place? Will it be heard in probate court or will it shift to a family law court and in what jurisdiction? What circumstances will determine where the case is heard?
Currently, the case is believed to be administered in downtown Los Angeles with a probate panel of judges. Judge Beckloff granted the special administration order in this case, and Mr. Reinstein maintains a regular, professional relationship with him.
Mr. Reinstein's career as a professor and lawyer is approaching forty-five years. His expertise as a lawyer also includes estate planning, and probate and trust administration.
