County officials are trying to get the word out about the dreaded 405 closures set for mid-July.
There's even an online countdown clock to the so-called "carmageddon."
The countdown clock is the same clock used on metro.net and the I-405 homepage.
It counts down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds to the I-405 closure, scheduled for July 16, 12:01 AM, Pacific Standard Time.
Ramps along the 10-mile closure section, will begin to shut down as early as 7 p.m. on Friday, July 15, and the closure of freeway lanes will begin at 10 p.m. to ensure full freeway closure by midnight.
The specific freeway closure:
Northbound I-405: 10-mile closure between Interstate 10 and Highway 101. Southbound I-405: four-mile closure between Highway 101 and Getty Center Drive.
