IRWINDALE, Calif. (KTLA) -- Natural Balance Dog Food and Fiesta Parade Floats held auditions Wednesday to find the next superstar surfing dog.

In what has already been touted as one of the wettest, wildest and wackiest casting calls in Hollywood history, hundreds of dogs tried out to show off their surfing skills at the headquarters Fiesta Parade Floats in Irwindale. The winning dogs will ride on Natural Balance Pet Foods' Float along with Tillman the bulldog and his athletic canine friends, and this will be the fourth straight year Tillman has shown off his skills in the Parade.

Sponsored by Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Pet Foods, Inc., the winning dogs along with Tillman & Friends will be having fun in the sun, as it is "Surf's Up" on this 116-foot long float set in a tropical floral setting. After extensive training, the dogs will actually surf on 65-foot long waves in over 6,600 gallons of water on a float weighing more than 100,000 pounds. A specially designed "wave" machine is incorporated into the design of the float and creates a wave every minute.
