Both actions are a result of violation of team rules.
“This is an unfortunate situation, but we will move forward as a program,” Painter said. “We expect our student-athletes to live up to a high standard, and when their actions become detrimental to the program, there are consequences.”
Neither Painter and the Purdue coaching staff nor the Purdue men’s basketball players will have further comment on this matter.
The punishment stems from an early morning altercation in West Lafayette. According to reports Barlow returned to a local bar to find his wallet, which he assumed was left inside. When he was refused entry Barlow returned with some of his teammates and an altercation ensued.
Bryd was the only person arrested during the incident on the suspiscion of public intoxitation.
Barlow is no stranger to trouble off the court, he was suspended last season during the Boilermakers NCAA tournament run for conduct determential to the team.
