    Andy McDonald was the St. Louis Blues' leading scorer when he was sidelined by a concussion in early December. His return sparked an offense that had been scuffling. The speedy forward emerged from a 24-game absence with an assist and played more than 18 minutes, sparking a top line that scored twice in a 5-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night. The Blues totaled six goals the previous three games, all losses.

    While you were sleeping, the St. Louis Blues took part in what may be the NHL’s biggest trade of the year.  The team has traded defenseman Erik Johnson and center Jay McClement to the Colorado Avalanche in multi-player trade announced early Saturday morning.   12. Blues Trade Eric Brewer To Tampa Bay Lightning

    The St. Louis Blues have traded defenseman and team captain Eric Brewer to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Brewer waived his no-trade clause for the team to make the move. St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Friday the club has acquired the rights to unsigned draft choice Brock Beukeboom and a third round draft choice in 2011 from Tampa Bay in exchange Brewer.
