Highlights

The USS Constellation is a former Civil War ship currently anchored in at Pier 1 in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It is the last Civil War vessel still afloat and the last all-sail warship built by the Navy. Several warships have bore the name USS Constellation, but the one that is docked at Baltimore's Inner Harbor was launched in 1854 and commissioned in 1855. Several warships have bore the name USS Constellation, but the one that is docked at Baltimore's Inner Harbor was launched in 1854 and commissioned in 1855. It became a naval training ship in the 1890s and was recommissioned in 1940 as a relief flagship during World War II. It was again decommissioned in 1955. Following a restoration effort completed in 1999, the USS Constellation was opened to the public for tours and a look at what life was like aboard a 19th century ship.
